We stumble across beautiful provincial museums of art everywhere in Japan. This houses the Kai Higashiyama collection, a landscape painter, and is wonderful. He travelled and painted throughout Japan, India and Scandinavia recording much of the lands he saw.
The architecture is so precise. Joints and corners meet. Lighting and finishes communicate hierarchy of place. I think we’ll see much more of this here. The gallery over looks the incredible Seto Ohashi Bridge.
