The ‘mist’ here is actually smoke from the nearby forest fires. It was so thick and acrid that in the night we were woken up and had to fashion face masks out of spare clothing.
We just had a similar thing in galicia Will. First of all we turned up at our campsite in the Ancares mountains only to find that 3 nearby fires meant that it was closed. So we headed south to the Courel range and on our second night a fire broke outhe close to where we had been walking earlier that day and we woke with thick smoke cooking our lungs the next morning as it settled at the foot of the valley. What are we doing to our planet?
